Spotlight: Treatment of trauma and ADHD-related sleep problems

Posted 5th April 2024 by Elizabeth Symington

Psychologists at The Rosewood Centre have specialised training in the treatment of trauma and ADHD and sleep problems.

One of our Trauma Treatments is EMDR.

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a transformative therapy that helps individuals process and heal from traumatic experiences by using bilateral stimulation, such as eye movements or taps, to facilitate the brain's natural healing processes. By targeting distressing memories and integrating them with more adaptive beliefs, EMDR offers rapid and lasting relief from symptoms associated with trauma-related disorders.

Treatment for ADHD and sleep problems can include SCP Neurofeedback.

SCP (Slow Cortical Potentials) Neurofeedback is a form of biofeedback therapy that targets brainwave activity, specifically focusing on slow cortical potentials. By training individuals to regulate these electrical signals in the brain, SCP Neurofeedback aims to enhance self-regulation and improve cognitive functioning, offering potential benefits for conditions such as attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and anxiety disorders.
