Counselling

Accessing professional support for life’s ordinary and extraordinary challenges is a sign of strength. Our clinicians are trained in a number of evidence-based therapeutic interventions that are tailored to your needs and aim to support you to move towards your goals and meet your full potential.

Our team provide counselling for adults, children, young people, families, and couples via a range of referral pathways. If you are unsure which is the best way to link in with us, just call our friendly team to discuss your options.

Medicare

We offer counselling via Medicare referrals from your General Practitioner (GP). Once your GP completes a Mental Health Care Plan, it can be faxed, posted, emailed, or you can bring it in yourself before the first appointment along with a signed GP letter of referral. Until December 2022, ten additional individual psychological therapy sessions are available each calendar year to all eligible patients through the Medicare Benefits Schedule Better Access initiative, for a total of up to 20 sessions (pending GP review after your initial ten sessions).

There is an out-of-pocket expense associated with this service. Please contact us for further information about fees.

National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)

We are an approved NDIS provider. If you have an NDIS plan, you may be eligible for funded therapy orientated towards achieving your goals. We appreciate that navigating the NDIS line items in your plan is a tricky process, so you or your Coordinator of Supports are welcome to contact us, and we can walk you through the process of accessing your funding for counselling. Counselling falls under the NDIS line item Improved Daily Living. The Rosewood Centre provides Family Focused and Early Childhood Support under the NDIS.

Private Health Funds

Members of private health funds may be able to claim rebates for counselling services. A GP referral is not necessary. Rebates will vary according to the health fund. Please contact your health fund for more information.

Workcover

We provide accredited counselling to support work-related psychological injuries.

Government Subsidised Counselling

A referral is not required for our government-subsidised counselling, including Family and Relationship Services (FARS) and Family Law Counselling (FLC) funding. A means-based sliding scale fee is payable.

Family Law Counselling provides a government subsidy to help people with relationship difficulties better manage issues related to children and families due to separation and divorce. We provide counselling to individuals, couples, and families to address issues that people often encounter in this situation, such as understanding the impact of separation, grief and loss, supporting children through change, and building a post-separation future.

Carers NSW

We are a Carer Gateway Service Provider. If you are a carer, you may be eligible to access funded counselling via a referral from Carers NSW. Contact Carer Gateway on 1800 422 737 to enquire about your eligibility and access a referral to see us.
