What is a therapy dog?

In my role as a therapy dog, I provide comfort and companionship to people who need a bit of extra support…or a cuddle.

How long have you been a therapy dog?

I visited offices when I was a puppy but Mum completed my official certification earlier this year. I am her second therapy dog after Oliver.

How did you become one?

Lots of napping under desks and learning to be resilient in all environments and with all sorts of people. This meant visiting lots of places, having many pupachinos, and being exposed to lots of things as a puppy. I also learnt obedience around not pulling on a lead, and ignoring smells and food on the ground when I am working.

What's your favourite part of the job?

Nothing better than naps and pats and an end-of-the-day treat on the way home from work.
