Samy Barakat

Samy is a Provisional Psychologist and an Associate Member of the Australian Psychological Society having completed Bachelor of Psychology with Honours from Monash University.

He started his career by working therapeutically with NDIS clients. Samy has experience with ADHD, Autism and Intellectual disorders. He mainly uses talk therapy and Cognitive Behavior Therapy to support his client's needs. He is also trained in Applied Behavior Analysis with Autism Partnership Foundation, Cool Kids Anxiety program, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and Advanced Cognitive Behavior therapy from Oxford University Cognitive Center.

Samy recognises the uniqueness of each client he meets, viewing it as a journey for both the client and the therapist to develop trustworthiness to achieve goals. While he has passion to administer clinical skills in session, he also likes to use technology in session such as actigraphy, VR and heart rate monitors in a flexible manner to enhance treatment.
