Jessica Smith
Registered Psychologist
Jessica is a passionate and down to earth Psychologist who works from our Maitland Rosewood Centre. Jessica enjoys working with individuals, couples, and families of all ages and backgrounds who come along with various difficulties (including stress, mood, relationships, parenting, trauma, or behavioural challenges).
Jessica is respectful and person centred in her approach, which means she believes in your innate strength and capacity to grow and heal. In her work, Jessica also honours the important role of our relationships (with ourselves and with others) and the joy and pain that can exist within these relationships.
While Jessica is trained and experienced in a range of evidence based psychological therapies, she works predominantly with Family Therapy, the Gottman Method, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Schema Therapy, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy. Jessica also has training and experience in providing Cognitive Behaviour Therapy for Eating Disorders (CBT-E), which incorporates family work when provided to younger individuals.
Jessica is also a Board Approved Supervisor. Jessica enjoys providing supervision to professionals from a variety of backgrounds. In supervision, Jessica strives to support her supervisee’s in developing their professional approach, theoretical framework/s, formulation and therapy skills, and perhaps most importantly, their capacity for reflective practice and self-supervision.
Jessica is a proud member of the Australian Association of Psychologists Incorporated (AAPi). AAPi actively advocate for the increased accessibility of affordable high quality psychological care for the Australian public. Jessica is also a professional member of the Australian Association of Family Therapy (AAFT). Jessica is registered to provide services via a number of programs, including Medicare, SIRA, and Victims Services.
