Cheryl Brown

Cheryl’s career began in primary teaching, which led to work in the early childhood environment, and then early intervention for special needs. After a period as a foster carer she returned to study, completing a Graduate Diploma in Psychological Studies (with Distinction) and Post Graduate Diploma in Psychology (with Distinction) at the University of Western Sydney. She has experience in assessments, counselling, and clinical practice.
Cheryl uses a range of treatment modalities tailored to client needs, including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Play Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitisation, and Reprocessing Therapy, and Mindfulness-based approaches. She also uses elements of Narrative Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Brief Solution-Focused Therapy.
While Cheryl has a passion for working with children and adolescents, she is experienced in helping all age groups to overcome a range of problems, including depression, anxiety, grief, trauma, relationship issues, and workplace stress.
