Later in life, David has come to psychological work after long successful careers in both the Australian Defence Force and Commonwealth Public Service. Male mental health and helping families thrive were major influencers for David to change direction significantly.
David enjoys working with clients across the lifespan but particularly loves working with young children. His approach to therapy is collaborative and respectful. David places great importance on his clients feeling both safe and understood in navigating through their problems. If David is working with a child, his approach will be fun, gentle, and educational, while working in close partnership with those involved in the child’s care. In psychological assessments, David’s goal is to provide his clients with results they can easily understand and include realistic, practical, and implementable recommendations.
David’s specific areas of interest include psychological assessment, autism, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), learning disabilities, conduct disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), adjustment – managing major life transitions, and workplace bullying and stress.
