Abbey Mateer

Abbey completed her Bachelor of Psychology (Honours I) at Newcastle University in 2018 and Master of Clinical Neuropsychology at Macquarie University in 2020. She is registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and holds endorsement in Clinical Neuropsychology. She is a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS) and College of Clinical Neuropsychologists (CCN).

Abbey has experience with complex cognitive assessments and supporting various life challenges including depression, anxiety, anger management, adjustment, post-traumatic stress disorder, self-esteem, and behaviour change. She has experience working with clients from diverse backgrounds and supporting individuals with intellectual disability, neurodevelopmental disorders, and acquired brain injury. She draws from multiple evidence-based therapeutic modalities, primarily using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Mindfulness.
